The “Falla del Calp Vell” Commission sets out large sculptures made from cardboard, wood and other materials that represent public figures and depict scenes of everyday life with ironic messages.
They burn them at midnight on the 19th of March, the feast of St. Joseph, in celebration of the start of spring.
It has been celebrated in Calpe since 1983.
